The best book I read last year, during my quest for the classics, ended up being Motley Crue’s autobiography The Dirt. I claimed it on tax, as I am an English teacher and reading books is kind of my staple. My favorite book is The Great Gatsby, but I have never taught it. My favorite one to teach is Life Of Pi. I teach at a school that I like but is too far away, and I feel very unsettled. I drive 70km one way to work most days a week. I share a house with four other people with varying levels of toilet-cleaning-skills, and my room is very tiny. I don’t stay there very often.
I love my boyfriend Dan THIS much.
I have decided after a good long think that my favourite drink is a Coke Spider, and wish I could have one now. I enjoy teaching myself how to cook, but am slowly realising that every attempt at baking cookies or a casserole is cancelling out every effort I make at the gym. That lemon slice I made that time was delicious but didn’t look very good. I am the opposite of a gym nerd, but this year I have decided that I really need to get proper fit and stop being a lazy bitch and have hired a personal trainer for two days a week. This is expensive and he kicks my ass. But he does make me better at rock climbing.
I spend too much money on expensive makeup and cheap wine.
I have lived in Brisbane, Australia all my life and I am yet to be able to tolerate the heat. It makes me grumpy in ways you won’t believe. I am a jeans and cardigan girl. I do like traveling, although I am very good at picking places where the exchange rate is not in my favour at that specific moment in time. My favorite places I’ve been to so far are New York, New Orleans, Paris and the Bavarian Alps; my one favourite moment traveling was a night camping with Dan on the side of the road in 0 degrees near Girraween National Park, on the Queensland border.
I am thirty, have a crush on Tina Fey, like it when people comment favourably on my choice in music, love camping, deplore the heat, and wish to travel through North America again.
